Counting down

So, at just over 2 weeks left before I start this road trip I'm going to experiment a little with this whole blog idea to see if I can figure it out.

I'd like to try to keep in touch with everyone individually, but who knows if I'll have time or energy for that! I'm hoping I can make this a decent substitute.

Right now I'm starting my various Christmas celebrations with all my permutations of family. I have to pack up and move out of my apartment before I hit the road, but I'll give that a miss 'til the 26th at least.

At the moment my plan is to leave on Jan 7th, drive drive drive til we hit Vegas. Climb around at Red Rocks, Joshua Tree (California) and southern Utah until the end of February, then to Arizona for a few weeks (go to a friends' wedding mid-March), then start heading east towards Kentucky and West Virginia to do some more climbing (surprise!). After that, who knows? Plans are very tentative and subject to change as whims dictate. :)

I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying the snow if you're in northern New England!

At my advanced age, I've done lots of things at least once; however, there are two things I've never done: Leave everything behind and climb the most amazing peaks in the country (I can barely climb stairs!), and 'post' to a 'blog'. Feeling pretty much like the meow the cat envies at this moment.

I'm happy to note (though I'm not sure I'm properly noting anything ... navigating this thing with my apt and able hands - no clue brain-wise what I'm doing) that I'm the first to post a message. Sweet Jesus. It's a day of firsts.

The point? A message to my dear friend/colleague Maura: I wish you and your companion(s) a trip - on all levels - that lives in places pix/blogs/vlogs and clogs can only dream of touching. You will be in my thoughts and I will send all good climb-karma your way.

Until dinner on the 29th (yeah!), be well, merry/happy, and peace.

Much love,

Teri
